Dignitas and EG scrape together 2023 rosters
Dignitas and EG are doing their best to field competitive rosters for the 2023, with some new and familiar faces stepping up.
Dignitas are picking up veterans from across the world, while EG are reinforcing with former LCS Championship winners.
EG and Dignitas LCS rosters
Dignitas have failed to secure a top 5 finish in the LCS for the past 3 years. But instead of opting into a low-budget uncompetitive roster, Dignitas are going the other way. Apart from ADC Spawn, who was promoted from Dignitas Academy, the entire LCS roster is getting replaced. Joining him in the bot lane is support IgNar, who is on his fourth team in as many years. But the journeyman reunion doesn’t stop here.
Former Cloud9 and Team Liquid mid laner, Jensen, is also joining the Dignitas roster for 2023. After sitting out half of the year, Jensen suited up for C9 in the 2022 Summer Split. He proved he can still play, but after the disappointing run at the World Championship, he was not a part of their future plans. He will be playing alongside jungler Santorin, who was the most consistent player on the 2022 Team Liquid roster. That says a lot, considering how badly TL imploded in 2022. Despite facing health issues, Santorin continued to perform at a high level.
Top laner Armut is the last piece for Dignitas roster
In the most surprisingly unsurprising move of the 2022 offseason, Dignitas are signing top laner Armut. Armut helped the MAD Lions become two-time LEC Champions and made international appearances in his two years there. But his failure to expand his champion pool and the tragedy that were the 2022 MAD Lions, left a sour taste in the mouths of most fans. But Dignitas are willing to give him another shot, even if he is not the most optimal choice. Name weight certainly played a huge role in the construction of this Dignitas roster, but that might just be what the LCS or EG need.
Ssumday and FBI join EG LCS roster
With top laner Impact exploring his options, and bot laner Danny being out for the year, EG were looking to make moves. Luckily, 100 Thieves were doing just that, albeit on a much bigger scale.
Reports say that top laner Ssumday has reached a verbal agreement with EG to replace Impact as the starting top laner for the 2023 season. With bot laner Kaori, who replaced Danny at the World Championship, finding a new home at Karmine Corp, EG are in the market for a new ADC. Sources say that former 100 Thieves bot laner, FBI, will be filling in that opening for this upcoming season.
