The 2023 LPL Summer Split is just a week into the LPL LoL schedule and we already have a major controversy brewing. EDG LoL just registered their second consecutive loss at the hands of BLG LoL, but it appears a rift within the team is causing the poor showings. Just hours before their match, EDG Gaming bot laner Leave LoL found himself in a massive scandal. Rumors and later evidence started flooding Chinese social media showing EDG Leave soliciting prostitution.

The troubles for the EDG team only got worse when it was revealed that Leave LoL had multiple burner social media accounts, which he used to defend himself and shift blame to his teammates. As a response, multiple credible sources in the Chinese LPL LoL community claim the ADC legend of the LPL Uzi LoL is replacing EDG Leave in the EDG League of Legends starting lineup for their upcoming match against JDG LoL

LPL EDG Leave LoL gets caught in a prostitution scandal

The early portion of the 2023 Summer LPL LoL schedule hasnt been kind to the LoL EDG squad. Facing off against 2 top five teams from the 2023 LPL Spring Split in TES LoL and BLG LoL is no easy task. The roster might field star LPL LoL and EDG League of Legends support Meiko, but this LoL EDG team is a shell of the former 2021 Edward Gaming roster that won the 2021 LoL Worlds trophy and earned Worlds EDG LoL skins. Both EDG Viper LoL and EDG Scout LoL are on different teams in 2023, and EDG League has missed them.

Just hours before EDG Leave LoL decided to pull out the questionable ADC Nilah LoL pick on stage against the league-leading BLG LoL and Elk LoL, Chinese social media platforms like Weibo, Hupu and Teiba started spreading rumors and then concrete evidence of EDG Leave LoL being involved in a prostitution scandal.

This is a bad look for any public figure, especially a professional gamer like EDG Leave LoL aged 20, who’s target audience is children and young adults. As more and more evidence was posted online during the match, discussions arose regarding the outcome of the situation. Prostitution is illegal in Chinese society with severe and equal punishments being given out to both the provider and the requester of the service. But in practice, it’s very hard to be proven guilty unless you are caught red-handed. And while many dismissed the case in a similar light to many other memorable LPL incidents including girls with Huanfeng LoL and Photic LoL being the latest, a bigger storm was brewing.

EDG Leave LoL social media burner accounts exposed

Within hours of the game ending, EDG Leave LoL was exposed to have multiple burner accounts across all Chinese social media platforms. Apart from using them to get in touch with even more women of questionable morality, it was revealed that the EDG League of Legends bot laner had some choice words for his current teammates. Screenshots show him using these accounts to flame and discredit his teammate EDG League jungler Jiejie LoL for his recent performance, as well as defend himself by responding to critics.

ADC Uzi LoL joins EDG LoL 2023 LPL Summer Split Roster

This is probably the reason that forced EDG League of Legends management to make changes to their LoL LPL 2023 EDG LoL roster. It was first hinted at by former LoL LPL and 2019 LoL Worlds champion DoinB LoL, who told viewers of his stream they must tune in the next time EDG LoL Esports play on Saturday 10 June against JDG LoL. It was later confirmed by multiple credible sources within the Chinese LPL LoL community that ADC legend LPL Uzi LoL will be the new starting bot laner for Edward Gaming LoL.

This is a pleasant surprise considering many were wondering what happened to Uzi LoL? We last saw Uzi League of Legends during the 2022 LPL Spring Split, where he played in just 4 matches, splitting starting ADC duties with Doggo LoL. Prior to that, Uzi LoL hadn’t participated in LoL Esports LPL competitions since the 2019 Worlds Championship when he was still with RNG LoL. Uzi LoL health had deteriorated to the point where type 2 diabetes and multiple wrist injuries forced him to give up on his passion. EDG gaming is the new Uzi LoL team and it looks like we are heading towards a 2018 Asian Games ADC rematch this Saturday with Ruler LoL.

Uzi LoL advice to EDG Leave LoL

The outcome of this entire situation is very unfortunate and ironic at the same, given the history of the two players involved. Just a few months ago in March, LoL Uzi gamer turned streamer shared some words of advice for the young EDG Leave LoL on his broadcast. Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao advised young star Hu “Leave” Hong-Chao of EDward Gaming to focus on his career and making money instead of dating or falling in love. Here’s an English transcript of what Uzi had to say.

This warning makes the current situation even more heart breaking given the position EDG Leave LoL was put in. He joined the EDG Academy LoL team back in June 2021 where he competed until the end of the 2022 LDL LoL season. The LDL LoL is the LPL Academy LoL circuit, where he won the Asia Star Challengers Invitational 2022 and NEST 2022 tournaments. EDG Leave was promoted to main EDG League roster in2023, finishing the 2023 LPL Spring Split in second place with a 12-3 record before coming up third in the LPL LoL playoffs.

It’s unclear if he will face further punishment from both the LPL LoL and Chinese authorities or get another chance to by another team. But one thing is clear, EDG Leave LoL won’t be the next great EDG ADC player following in the footsteps of Viper LoL, despite honest advice from the ADC LPL Uzi LoL legend himself, who is now replacing him.
